Part of a School assignment. I have to make three still life pictures, one on paper (this one), one on canvas, and the other as a lino print! D: I hate still life so.
No animals were harmed in the making of this picture! Dispite the horse shoe and bridle, and lack of a horse, and two saws... O.O
Anyway, it was a bit rushed in the end, I was getting pretty sick of it, and I wanted it finished. Its smaller then what I normally do, so it didn't take me nearly as long, its only 11x14. And I would've done this in coloured pencil, to show the lovely rusty reds and browns, but I was only allowed to use lead pencil... D: SCREW YOUR YEAR 9 ELECTIVE ART CLASS!!!
Saws? Lack of a horse? I do NOT want to know what happened here.... that poor horsey. Ha, you say you hate still life and yet you do a fantastic job at it.

i love how you did the leather part of the bridle or what i think is the bridle. You did a great job, i totally suck at them, thats why i dont do them when i should be.
Its a great still life. Pity you only got to use regular lead pencils. I also hate traditionalist art classes, they are boring and lacking in imagination.
Thanks! And yeah... next one ,the acrlyic on cavas, we don't even get to amke up our own still life, it has to be a picture from a magazine! D:

I saw a sign, it said: "Watch for Children" and I thought: "that's a good trade."
I have learned that the people on forums, are dicks, mainly because they're 25 years old and live in their parents basement, and the only friends they have are virtual.

Might I suggest a taxidermy magazine then since it probably will have some stuffed animals in it so you can at least draw something you like. Sounds like several art classes I have been in, I just kept doing my work on the side mostly by rushing through the boring things and irritating the ever living daily lights out the teacher.
i don't like still lifes either. they're too...still... i prefer living things.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This news article features five deviants who took part in Comment Month through commenting on the deviations that were submitted.
Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here. Although not all may be underappreciated, their efforts deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
